Tour Information:
The animals at Kindred Spirits Sanctuary love visitors and thrive on all of the attention! Tours are arranged by appointment only and are given year-round except for June, July, and August. During the fall and winter months the only thing that would prevent a scheduled tour from taking place would be the arrival of a tropical storm or hurricane! Please visit the contact page to make an appointment.
Some things to consider when planning your visit:
| • |
Wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty! Long shorts or pants, while not required, do help protect your legs. Close-toed shoes only please. Some of our residents tend to get very excited about visitors and may inadvertently step on toes! |
| • |
Visitors are always welcome to bring their camera to document the antics of our residents. You are also welcome to bring your own coolers with refreshments, but please remember that KSS property is a “meat-free zone," out of respect for the animals that call it home. |
| • |
Arriving with treats for the animals makes you a very popular guest! You are welcome to bring natural horse and dog biscuits, and a wide variety of produce to feed to our animals. (Please try to avoid treats with excessive amounts of animal products in them). The animals will absolutely love you for it! |

Days can get super busy here at the farm! As a result, we sometimes have very little lag time between appointment or projects. We ask that you try to arrive as close to your scheduled tour time as possible. If you have scheduled a tour and will be more than 10 minutes late, we ask that you please give us a quick call to let us know when you will be arriving. Once you have a confirmed, scheduled tour, a cell phone number will be provided to you, in case you have any problems finding us or encounter other difficulties that would affect your tour. |
Volunteer Information:
Join a Kindred Spirits Sanctuary Work Party!
We schedule 1-2 work parties a month, on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. The work party starts promptly at 10am with a tour of the farm for new volunteers. This will allow you to meet the animals and become familiar with the layout of the sanctuary, as well as potential safety considerations. It will also allow time for KSS staff to find out more about your expectations and preferences in relation to your work. The tour is followed by some of our big farm "projects" (raking, mucking, hay clean-up, cleaning barns, limb/brush clean-up, etc.) and the day winds down with a vegan lunch, which is provided. Work parties are limited to 15 participants so please contact us by phone or email and RSVP for the work party you would like to attend. We'll see you soon!
*Please note that the sanctuary gate does not open until 9:50am on work party days. We love it when our volunteers can't wait to get to work, but KSS staff needs their "pre-work party" time to tend to some specific chores. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
*Children are always welcome at the sanctuary when accompanied by a parent or guardian, but due to the intense nature of some of the physical work completed during our work parties, we find that a scheduling a tour separately works better for very young children.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR PAST WORK PARTY PARTICIPANTS.
We have truly enjoyed meeting all of you, and are so appreciative and humbled whenever we have a returning volunteer. We could not do this work without supporters like you, who open their hearts to these unique animals and assure them a happy ending. Our hands-on volunteers make an enormous difference in the lives of our rescued farm animals. Even a small donation of time makes a positive impact on the lives of animals, and enables us to maximize our operational efficiency. We can get so much accomplished with the help of a caring, dedicated group. Volunteers are crucial to our success!
